V-8

Here is a cheat sheet for the V-8 posts - November 2011

HAVE YOU HAD YOUR V-8 TODAY?
V = verse
Focus on at least one verse a day like our key verse Eph 3:19! We know God wants us to spend time in His Word.  Pick some favorites to start with and expand your study.  Here a few family favorite suggestions for your first week of getting on the V-8 track.
 Phil 4:13, Jer 33:3, Ps 91:11,Prov 3:5-6, Matt 6:33, 1 Thes 5:18, Ps 19:14, John 14:14

1-       Pray for healthy day.  Talk with God about your struggles to be healthy.  Don’t be afraid to ask for the strength and for help. See 1 Thes 5:17

2-       Know this is not your body but God’s.  Honor Him with your choices every day.  Try to eat at least one healthy meal. See Rom 12:1 and 1 Cor 6:19

3-       Resist temptation.   Planning meals and snacks in advance can help. It is hard but it can be done.  See James 1:12,  1 Cor 10:13 and Heb 2:18

4-       Be patient. It is so hard because we are NOW kind of people, but this takes time.  Track what you eat and your progress. See Ps 27:14

5-       10 minutes of exercise.  We can start with this and hopefully work our way up.
Take a walk or march in front of the TV. See Isa 40:31

6-       Check in with your prayer/accountability partner.  Talk with someone in your church, or your mom, your sister, or even your husband.  Have someone to pray with and to support you.  See James 5:16 and Ecc4:9-10

7-       Rest.  Our body needs it.  It’s hard for us to slow down, but it is something we have to do.  See Ps 4:8 and Matt 11:28

8-       10 deep breaths a day!  It will help!  Say to yourself these phrases for an even more calming effect.

1 – In with His peace, out with my worries!
2 – In with His grace, out with my sins!
3 – In with His guidance, out with my anxieties!
4 In with His forgiveness, out with my shame!
5 – In with His mercy, out with my guilt!
6 – In with His fellowship, out with my loneliness!
7 – In with His comfort, out with my strife!
8 – In with His love, out with my hurt!
9 – In with His joy, out with my anger!
10– In with His strength, out with my weakness!
